Sunday 31 January–4th Sunday After Epiphany

Last week we had some great attendance and visitors! We hope that you will join us this week…we can’t wait to welcome you with open arms, open hearts, open minds and open doors!

This week during our Sunday worship celebration, we’ll be taking a peek at Jeremiah 1:4-10, which tells the story of the prophet Jeremiah’s calling. The sermon will focus on God using ordinary, everyday typees of people to do extraordinary things…God is calling each of us to do God’s work in the world! Our anthem this Sunday will be presented by the choir at Deer Creek and will be a solo by Scotty at Mt. Tabor. Join us as we praise God through word and song!

Some great things are happening at Deer Creek Charge! This week, Mt. Tabor sent 27 health kits to UMCOR for Haiti relief in addition to a financial donation! Also, it’s not too late to sign up for the Genesis Bible study that will begin next Wednesday, February 3, in the Deer Creek Sunday School room. We already have about a dozen people signed up, but there is still room for more! We have several people from outside of the church joining us as well…will you join us too?

A preview of things to come…

We are asking people to bring in palms from last year’s Palm Sunday (if they still have any) over the course of the next week or so…we’ll collect them and then burn them for use on Ash Wednesday (February 17…this will be a joint charge service…stay tuned for details!)

Next Sunday (February 7) will be comunion Sunday! Join us as we gather around God’s table to receive a gift from our Creator.

Blessings upon you as you journey through life…may you know that God walks with you every step of the way! Come join us so we may walk with you as well. Grace and Peace to you!
