Sunday, 11 April 2010-Easter…Week 2

Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen Indeed! Alleluia! Amen! We shouted this in worship last week…and we’re going to do it again this week! We had much to shout last week…and were thrilled to see so many people in worship! We hope that you will join us again this week…and if you’ve yet to stop by and check out our branch of God’s family, we warmly invite you to come and spend some time with us! We had many children at Deer Creek last week…and even had an egg hunt after worship! Wow! At Mt. Tabor, we were blessed to be worshipping with some of our homebound members! What a joy!

This week at Deer Creek Charge, we’ll be looking at the part of the story where Christ has risen and is appearing to his disciples–first behind closed, locked doors, and then later to Thomas (John 20:19-31). The sermon is titled, “Beyond a Doubt” and will help us to move into a deeper relationship with God…a God who is willing to meet us where we are, physically and spiritually; a God that can handle all of our questions and doubts about life and faith. We’ll also be singing some old favorites for hymns, including “How Great Thou Art.”

Won’t you join us for a time of praise and celebration? We invite you to join us as together, we learn, grow and explore what it means to be a Christian in a rapidly changing world. May God bless you during this Easter season and always!

Announcements:

Next Sunday, April 18th, is the 3rd Sunday of the month…meaning, 3rd Sunday Dinner after worship at Mt. Tabor! (approx. 12 noon). Bring yourself and a dish if you’d like. Join us for food, fun and fellowship! All are welcome!

Are you interested in learning more about God and the Bible? Think about joining a Bible Study! The current Genesis study wraps up at the end of April. If you have a topic that you are interested in, or a day/time/location you would prefer to meet, please let Bonnie know. This study would likely run through all or part of the summer. We’ll kick off others beginning in the fall too! (So let us know what you’d like to study!)

Help the Homeless near Mt. Tabor by bringing in “ready-to-eat” food. All cans MUST have “flip tops.” Examples: cans of fruit, granola bars, tuna with crackers, juice boxes, water bottles, crackers, small peanut butter, fruit snacks, plastic utensils, etc. Place in the entrance in the location marked “Food for Homeless.”

Hel the Sunday School! Bring juice boxes or a small snack (like animal crackers) to church for our youngest disciples. Location: Deer Creek.

Summer Camp is coming up! There are camps for all ages (even adults!) and family camps. See a brochure, go online to wwww.bwccampsandretreats.com or talk to Bonnie if you are interested. Scholarships are available. Discounts for campers who have family volunteer as a counselor for any age.
