Hey Hey! Great to see you back here! This week at Deer Creek Charge, we have a special guest speaker, Dave Moore, our certified lay speaker, who will be preaching for us. His message is titled, “GPS for the Soul” and is based off of Galatians 5:1, 13-25…the Fruit of the Spirit passage. Our pastor will be guest preaching at another local chuch this week, and Dave was gracious enough to fill in for us!

A random side note…take a look at the scripture passage for this week…do you notice anything? Paul, the author of the letter to the Galatians, wrote the word “fruit” NOT “fruits.” Now, I know some of you might think this is nit-picking…but that “s” makes a BIG difference in how you interpret the passage! You see, if Paul had said “fruits” (plural), then it could be interpreted as individual fruit mixed together like a fruit salad. But in a fruit salad, you can pick out the stuff you don’t like (personally, I always pick out the mangoes and melons). But Paul didn’t say this. Instead, Paul used the singular, “fruit.” Meaning, all nine of the items are equal and mixed together…you can’t have one without having them all! The way Paul explains it, it is more like a smoothie, and not a fruit salad! In a smoothie, you can’t pick out the fruit you don’t like…it’s all mixed up together! Cool, huh? Come on out and see what else we have going on!

Announcements are pretty slim this week…the new Exodus Bible study began last week, but it’s still not too late to join! Come on out on Wednesday morning at 11 am and see what it’s like to wander through the wilderness for 40 years!

Also, our pastor is still in town, so if you have a pastoral need, please feel free to contact her.

We hope that your week is going well…and that you’ll join us in worship soon! We can’t wait to see you, warmly welcome you, and walk with you as we all grow in our relationship with Christ! Blessings on you this week and always…The People of Deer Creek Charge.
