Light of the World…Sunday, 28 November 2010

Great to “see” you here on the DCC blog! Thanks for stopping by. This Sunday, we are taking a look at what it means to be the “Light of the World” through the lens of Isaiah 2:1-5 and Matthew 24:36-44. Isaiah’s passage is a vision of a radically different world…one where there is no more war, peace reigns, God sits on top of the highest mountain, and everyone walks in the Light of the Lord. The Matthew passage is where Jesus is telling the disciples to stay alert for the second coming. When will that be? No one knows the day or the hour…not even Jesus himself. So what do we do in the meantime? How do we handle this? Come join us on Sunday morning to celebrate the First Sunday of Advent and find out the answers to these and other questions!

Also…Christimas Eve worship has been announced…please join us! See an older post or the homepage for details. Next Sunady we are celebrating the 2nd Sunday of Advent (the four-week time period right before Christmas that is a time for reflection, waiting and anticipation) and Holy Communion. All are welcome at God’s table! (see “worship services” and “What to expect” for details on this). We’re lookng forward to seeing you around the DCC!
