Are You There, God? (Sunday, 17 July 2011)

Hey There! Welcome back to the Deer Creek Charge! We are glad you stopped by. Again, we apologize for a late post. Better late than never, though. There’s still time to come out and experience worship with us this morning! We would love to see you as we continue our trek through Genesis and Exodus this summer. Today, we continue the Jacob narrative we began last week by looking at Jacob on the run from his brother, Esau. Esau wants to kill Jacob because Jacob tricked him out of his birthright and then his blessing. So Jacob is on the lam, headed for his mother’s country in the hopes of finding protection and a wife. While on his journey, he falls asleep on a rock (yes, a rock…he’s a bit hard-headed, eh?), and has a dream. Come find out how Jacob’s dream in a famous story called “Jacob’s Ladder” (Genesis 28:10-22) has EVERYTHING to do with life in 2011. We’re going to be finding God in the everyday. It’s going to be exciting! Oh…and you get a rock to take home to mark your own “Beth-el” (House of God)–where you find God in the everyday this week. We can’t wait to see you!

There are no new announcements this week. Check last week’s post or stay tuned for more. Blessings.
