Called and Sent (Sunday, 3 June 2012)

Welcome back to the Deer Creek Charge! We are honored and excited that you are joining us online! We hope that you will come check us out in person too! You are always welcome.

This Sunday, we’ll be taking a look at Isaiah 6:1-8 and the story of Isaiah’s calling by God to be a prophet for God. It will be interwoven with the story of our pastor’s commissioning experience and own call, and culminate in a challenge to the congregation to live out their own calling by God. This is our pastor’s last Sunday in worship and preaching. We’ll also be celebrating Holy Communion and sharing some thoughts and memories. This is a Sunday you won’t want to miss!

Bonnie’s LAST Sermon at the Deer Creek Charge is TODAY. A potluck luncheon will be held after worship at Mt. Tabor (about 12 noon) for both churchesDeer Creek is bringing desserts. You should have received a transition letter from Bonnie. If you have not, please see her ASAP.

Don’t forget the on-going food drives at both Deer Creek and Mt. Tabor!

Worship Fun Fact! The Dismissal with Blessing, often called the Benediction, is given by the pastor, facing the people. It is addressed to the people, not to God, and the pastor and people appropriately look at each other as it is given. For this reason, it should be given from the front, not the back, of the sanctuary (BOW 31).
